Excellent Earplugs
These are the only type of earplugs that provide both strong noise protection and comfort for me. I like the way they mold to the shape of my ear and are sticky enough to be reused up to about ten times per pair. I understand that they may not work for everyone, but they are certainly worth a try.

Great product, really works.
Mack's are the best, and I have tried many as I am sound sensitive. I cannot sleep without earplugs and these do the best job for me. No foam buds to mess with (that do not work). I've given them to friends too as they did not like what they were using but like these. They do not go IN yours ears, but over the ear opening. They are moldable to your ear. Can't be without them.

Pain free, noise canceling ear coverage
Regular ear plugs hurt my ears because of having to push them into my ear canal. These just cover the ear. And block noise incredibly well. I can use a set for up to a week before replacing them. But you can change them daily if you like.

These are the most effective earplugs I've found
These are great. I don't really care for the foam type ear plugs. If I'm using them for sleep. foam ear plugs take a minute or so to fully expand. During that time, you get to hear a symphony of loud, annoying noises, which is not exactly what I want when trying to fall asleep. Then, about half the time, foam ear plugs dislodge quickly and require re-positioning. If that doesn't occur, they very likely work their way loose during the night so that they are not fully in place in the morning. On the other hand, these plugs are like someone hit mute on the universe. You need to carefully read the instructions on use, and cover the ear canal, as opposed to inserting into the canal, but they quickly attenuate sound very effectively, and they stay put.Be advised, you may sleep through alarms, phones, riots, gunshots, sonic booms, etc. For travel, they are great. Just get good at lip-reading the flight attendant. You can't hear squat with them in place, and people really can't see that you have them in unless they look from your side. You can re-use them several times as well. Good product.

They work better than anything else.
I've been using these for years, they are the only reason I really sleep. One pair will last a considerable amount of time especially if you are careful to have clean ears at bedtime, and you keep your sheets relatively clean as well. I think I've been using these for about 10 years so opted for extra Overstock.

Great sleep-savers, but wish they lasted longer
I first discovered Mack's when I unwittingly wound up living adjacent to a fraternity house during college. Since moving to the city and living with loud roommates and/or neighbors, I've continued to use these as a means of preserving my sleep. They're comfortable to wear and do a very good job of cutting out noise at lower frequencies -- for instance, things like bass and the sounds of footsteps from the floor above you are very much subdued with these. Higher-pitched noises like dogs barking and fire alarms will still get through a bit, but overall these things cut out noise very well. The major drawback to these is that after three or four nights of use, they tend to lose some of their stick. It helps if you make sure to keep your ears nice and clean, which I do, but still, after a bit of regular use it can be hard to get them to stay in place and maintain the seal they're supposed to create around the outer part of your ear. I usually just reach up and readjust them until they re-stick, but it becomes harder and harder to do this the longer you use them. I find that I can usually get about a week's use out of one pair before I feel compelled to start on a new one. As such, these are an ongoing expense, but to me they're well worth the money.

Totally Comfortable
I needed earplugs for extended use in a moderate noise environment, but foam hurts after several hours, and even "music" earplugs get annoying. These earplugs sit in the outside bowl of your ear, and don't go in, and man are they comfortable. It helps if they are body temperature, and then you apply gentle pressure for several seconds until it molds to your ear shape. Sometimes it takes a couple pushes in different areas to get it to mold right. But once it's molded, it stays that way. I had them on for 10+ hours one day, and at the end there was no pain at all. When used correctly, they cut out a surprising amount of noise - I didn't realize there were rated for 22 dB NRR.

My favorite earplugs
Macks really are pillow soft silicone earplugs. I have tried other brands when I couldn't get Macks and the silicone is hard and difficult to mold to your ear. Macks are easily pliable to mold to your ear and stay soft which makes it easier to sleep on either side. They also don't go in as deep as the foam earplugs that can go in too deep and hurt your ears. Macks are the best earplugs I have ever used and I won't use anything else from now on.

Very good & no sore ears.
Top tips: Divide each wax ball into two smaller wax balls, one for each ear. Each morning, wash both wax balls in soapy water each morning so they continue to stick to your ears - this way each pair will last several days to a week, and each box will last ~2 months. While these wax plugs don't block as much noise as foam plus, they still block a lot, and crucially they don't irritate your ears so you can use them long term. And because they don't block ALL noise, you don't become totally dependent upon absolute silence in order to sleep.
