Strawberry Flavoring 4 oz

Currently using this to monitor water and wort temperature for home brewing. It mates up nicely to my SS Brewtech 10 gallon kettle with the help of a 1/2" NPT weldless bulkhead fitting, thread tape, and some seals. Works pretty doggone well in my application.Why only four stars if it "works pretty doggone well?" Glad you asked. When I received the thermometer, I calibrated it using a glass of ice water. It read about 8 degrees optimistic (40F instead of right around 32F). Not a big deal since the adjustment screw on the back of the dial is quite handy and makes calibration a breeze. Well, I then tested it in boiling water and it read about eight degrees too low, so adjust it again I did. Back to the ice water and again optimistic by 8 degrees. Left it alone since the temperatures I'm measuring are north of 150F.The thermometer is pretty accurate at mashing and brewing temperatures (150F up to 212F) as verified with a digital thermometer. Discrepancy between the two was 1 to 2 degrees at the most during the brewing process.So, what I like about it:Relatively inexpensiveWaterproof!Accurate over the temperature range I need to monitorEasily calibratedSeems well made and durableAnd what I would like to improve:Accuracy on the low end could be betterAll said and done, I'd buy another one in the event I accidentally kill my current one or if I decide to put a fixed thermometer in my mash tun.

Bought this thermometer because I had the same model that I bought from a local store and loved it. The one that I previously bought was identical to this and came with all of the hardware to install it on my keggle.This one, however did not come with any hardware (1/2" lock nut, washer, and high temp o-ring). I just wish the product page was more specific on exactly what I should expect to receive.

Just received and have not used the thermometer yet. First thing I noticed it did not come with a gasket or nut. If you need something to work right away be sure you add both of these to your cart

They aren't that accurate and the adjustment doesn't work. If you just want to get in the ballpark these would work.

Tested thermometer to digital tester and was accurate to a degree. Had issues with some leakage at the threaded part of the thermometer. Used pipe thread tape and stopped to a small occasional drip. Appears the threads may not be cut right either in the 1/2 inch bushing I used or the thermometer threads.

They forgot to ship the 2 o-rings, which gave me a lot of trouble during the installation. Nevertheless, calibration was great and i am happy with my purchase.

Works well so far. Fairly accurate. Only off by a few degrees. I still need to manually adjust.

It's what I was looking for; however I tested the calibration [as always with a new thermometer]. My Boiling water measured off the chart [over 220F] I was able to adjust the thermometer down to 220F, but this was all the movement that was allowed by the screw and was still too high by 10F. Next I tested it in ice water and it measured 55F. Final nail in the coffin is set - returned it being defective... Will post back when refund is processed... I may give it another shot as there are not many bad reviews here.
