Jivraj 9 CTC Leaf Tea - 1lb

No matter who I serve this tea to, they go nuts over it! I often have English Tea Time at my house, and nothing comes close the the tea I grew up drinking in the UK--however this product does. Heads-up! A little goes a long way! So experiment. . .start with less than you think you need and then adjust the amount from there. The tea also holds up well mixed with milk--it is not bitter. Make it in a pot, treat yourself to a special porcelain tea cup, and enjoy! Life is too short to drink bad tea!

It did not come in a box:; I don't think it is very fresh although it came in an aluminum bag.

My pantry includes a huge assortment of teas, many of them of the loose black variety. The tin I usually grab is filled with tea from the  Jivraj 9 CTC Leaf Tea (454 g, 1 lb)  box because it produces a tasty and full bodied tea that is great either hot or iced. I typically brew for three minutes, then remove the strainer and rebrew the plumped leaves later in the day for a reduced caffeine afternoon pick me up. This tea from India is even better when sweetened a little and I often add steamed milk and spices to make an impromptu chai. Because of the cut of the leaves, I've found this one pound box produces much more tea than other pounds of tea. Friends from India prepare this tea by placing water, milk and tea leaves in a pot on the stove, then they sweeten and strain it into a cup. They also add spices to create their favorite chai. This is the only Jivraj tea I've tried, but I'm now interested in tasting their green tea.
