Being new to product development (for a small software company), I thought it was necessary to have an understanding of how intellectual property could be used/applied to providing software consulting services and new product development. I believe this book gave me a strong understanding of what I need to know. Obviously this is a complicated subject and experts are needed beyond a certain point, but it is important to know what questions to ask and to understand the language. This book provides that.
