Unlike other customers, I received EXACTLY what is shown. My fabric is as pictured, and the backing on mine is a BLACK cotton. I suppose the difference in texture and backing are dependant on the seller. I purchased from The Fabric Exchange. Their shipping was very slow though (9 days and I am 12 miles from them, YES, I SAID 12 MILES). I would have gladly gone and picked it up, but that option was not allowed.Back to the fabric. It is a good weight for upholstery and just enough stretch to tack down, but far from "stretchy". If I could reach out and touch the photo shown, my facbric looks and "feels" exactly the way I expected based on the picture. It seems strong, and and I stretched and pulled with another person to be sure it can withstand the punishment on the furniture where it will be used. It passed , and I am more than pleased.This fabric is a great value, but I only recommend this seller if you are not in a hurry, because if it took 9 days for me to receive 12 miles away, anyone further could wait weeks.

I was a little nervous when I first applied this to the speakers pictured. At first it looked like the contact cement I used bled through but after the glue cured it looked great. I will definitely use this for more projects like this. I used DAP contact cement that I applied to the wood and vinyl with a brush.

I purchased this ti make a leather looking purse. I tried to cut out a pattern today. I am disappointed because it was folded and it has crease on it where it was folded. Not sure i can use the whole yard.

I noticed that some reviewers were complaining about the lack of texturing, but what I received had very nice texture. It is very good quality and I received my order before the estimated delivery date. If there is a complaint (and there is not) it would be that for some reason they are saying I ordered 5 yards, which I didn't, and I only received one yard. So everything is in order and there is no reason not to buy this great product. Also, consider a silver or white marker if you need to mark the back for cutting. It is black on the back.

Shipped in a timely manner and item was as described. I don't have much experience with pleather so I don't know if this complaint is unwarranted, but it was a little too stretchy and easy to tear for my project.

I didn't expect it to be thick (it's not) but I was hoping it would have the same texture shown in the image. The ridges aren't anywhere near as pronounced, it feels very smooth to the touch. Maybe it would work well for upholstery or something ordered a few yards of this expecting it to be a bit more.... I don't know, leathery. Which it's not. It IS easy to work with though, so there's that. I just wish I'd known what I was buying.

Worked great for my project, so far holding up and appears to be quality material.
