YHTAUTO 2PCS Rear Trunk Deck Lid Lift Supports Gas Struts Replacement for 2006-2015 Mazda MX-5 Miata Convertible With Retractable Hardtop

After watching a video, I replaced the pair on my 2008 NC Miata PRHT in about 10 minutes. They work just like new - the deck opens itself when opened just a few inches. Quick fix for an previously annoying problem.

I reviewed utubes as well as prior reviews on this product. Learned that all you need is a flathead screwdriver. However, what I did NOT learn is that there is little notch, at least in the original equipment, that helps in sliding the screwdriver under the clip. Before I got a flashlight and looked closely, I was trying to just jam the screwdriver blade under the clip. Even got a tiny screwdriver I use to tighten glass frames. Once I saw the notch the clip popped out in a second. each one.

These are absolutely perfect. Bought a set for my '06 Miata and had them swapped out in a few minutes per side. I always thought the struts on the trunk were simply designed to keep it from falling down. Little did I know they also are supposed to spring the trunk open. Trunk works like new now.

I saw some reviews of another brand where people had complained that the struts were too short, but this brand fit *perfectly* on my Mazda! I could not believe what a difference these made! I bought the car used and had no idea that these should be lifting the trunk: my old ones really didn't do anything. Trunk lid now STAYS open as it should!Highly recommended. Very easy to install. My installation notes:1) The old struts come off easily by using a small blade screwdriver to carefully move or remove the retaining clip on each joint.2) On the new struts, connect the *bottom* part first before the trunk lid (top) because it's easier to push down to make the connection to the top/lid joint. In all, it took me about 6 minutes to remove the old ones and clip on the new ones.

Easily installed with only a narrow flat head screwdriver. Took less than 5 minutes to install and they work like the original equipment.

My Miata Dealer wanted over $300 to furnish and install new trunk lid pistons. I bought these, watched the video, and in less than ten minutes had new pistons installed and they work great. Highly recommend them.

I got these gas supports for my Boxster as my OE ones would no longer hold up the lid. These were very easy to install and at first they were great, but on a cold morning (I live in LA) it did not hold up my lig. I tried to pummp the supports by raising and lowering the lid and it helped. They are ok but I don't know if I would get this brand again. If it is not cold then they work great, if it is cold... not so much.

The struts hold up the trunklid really well. Our 2008 PRHT MX-5 has a spoiler on the trunk lid and so weighs a little more. The old trunk supports never held up the lid like these do. Really well matched to the specs of our car!

La fuerza de estos amortiguadores es muy grande, recomiendo mucho cuidado al instalarlos, mi maletero (Mazda MX5 2006) es muy ligero, por lo que siempre procuro abrir y cerrar con cuidado; sin embargo, les tengo mucha confianza, ya que siguen funcionando igual que al comprarlos, lo único que hago es limpiar el polvo hacia afuera del sistema del pistón.

FUNCIONA PERFECTAMENTE CON EL MIATA 2013.LAS MEDIDAS SON CORRECTAS.

These were for my 2006 MX5 GT. These are about 1/2" longer than OEM so even with trunk wide open I could not connect both ends. Had to remove hinge complete and do a compression on the strut and put it together. Works ok after reinstalling hinge assembly as a complete unit. Also much stronger than OEM so I only replaced one for now.
