Excellent item that works perfectly
Did the job perfectly. I use these for grinding jigs that I fabricate, so they need to be strong and have a quality thread as some threads can be poorly cut and have a loose fit as a result.

Average quality overall
The threads have a cheap finish and are not clean-cut and the plastic knobs also have a cheap feel to them and are not very tactile in use. I have seen and used much nicer knobs of a superior quality, but you get what you pay for and whilst these knobs are usable they are not a high quality item.

Hardly radical or exciting, but if its what you need.....
So, long story short. I play in a band and we have a set of music stands all by the same manufacturer and the height is adjustable with a M6 thumbscrew - similar to these. Problem is, on the stands they're made of cheap, soft metal and after a while the threads strip and the stand is rendered useless. Some people have gone for an M6 bolt with a good old-fashioned wing nut, which works OK, but frankly, looks like what it is - a bodge. Solution? Find some M6 thumbscrews like these. They're not identical to the one's originally fitted, and the plastic thumbscrew is smaller but they work well and look so much better than the bolt and wingnut. Price of a thumbscrew = a few pence. Price of a new music stand = about £40. Job well done!
