Multiple-Target Tracking with Radar Applications (Artech House Radar Library (Hardcover))

A classic …
… even after all these years! It was a common commodity in the engineering circles I ran in. It is not technology dependent, so the basic principles taught are timeless and still relevant today. Highly recommend this for any practicing engineer in this arena. I left my copy to my young replacement when I retired but later bought another one for my personal library.

A helpful guide to multiple-target tracking
I purchased this years ago while working at a company that designed and built systems for civil air traffic control (ATC) and air traffic management (ATM). In that context, I found this book to be very helpful in understanding the underlying principles behind multi-target trackers.Another reviewer indicated that the material is a bit dated. I would agree with that, but I would add that much of the new research (seen in IEEE Target Tracking papers and such) still requires a knowledge of the material from this book as a prerequisite. Also, the amount of material covered is fairly comprehensive. Among the subjects covered are multi-target tracking, track association (and association algorithms like global nearest-neighbor and JPDA), as well as other related topics.Overall, I would recommend this for anyone looking for a good introduction to multiple-target tracking.

Timeless fundamentals
A great intro to Kalman and statistical data association.Needs some updates for modern filters lile EKF, UKF, particle, however considering the date of publishing the book still provides a lot of value.
