Popular Mechanics For Kids - The Complete Second Season - 5 DVD Set (Amazon.com Exclusive)

I am a special education teacher and use DVDs like this one, Bill Nye and The Magic School Bus to supplement my classroom lectures and LABS. I found these DVDs to be both educational and entertaining, and my student population enjoys them very much. They also cover the state standards and extended standards for my state (Ohio). I would recommend them to any (7-12 special education teacher) who wants to supplement their teaching. Episodes are approximately 22 minutes each and can be easily stopped at various times to review or explain important points. If it included an episode guide and teachers summary (like The Magic School Bus) I would give it 5 stars!

My 11 year old daughter has LOVED this show since she was 5. It started when I came across a old 4 episode volume at a library sale and brought it home to her - she must have watched it 30 times in a row. Soon enough, my age 5 science buff was impressing dinner guests by explaining how dolphins use echolocation. Sadly, at that time, the whole series was not available on DVD, only certain episodes. We were ecstatic to find these complete sets on Amazon. The episodes cover a wide variety of topics that kids have questions about, and are rich with knowledge that applies to everyday life (for instance, did you know that polyester is made from recycled plastic?) Get this for the any and every child in your life, they will enjoy it for years to come.

The whole family loves it and we all learn from the shows. We discovered them one year ago and have only praises are the series. I wish they had made even more episodes.. These are quality videos , each episode lasts about 20 minutes and it keeps my grandson completely absorbed. The wide subject matters will grow with him in his understanding.

Amazing show for all ages!!! 18 month old, 10 year old and I (30-something) love this show! Not all episodes are as interesting to us but all seem to strike a nice balance between education and entertainment. We love the aircraft carrier episode. The kids hosting the show are really talented and are so lucky to experience all these amazing adventures - inspiring!

My son loves these. He's asks to watch it all the time! Beware though, he did come into my room at 3am to talk about movie special effects from episode 8. Yeah, thanks for that....... He also loves all the things that are kind of gross, like watching a cat poop in a toilet, and an episode where you learn to make boogers, cause you know, kids noses don't just make those all on their own. Anyway, it is educational, and fun.......for him.

My 8 yo absolutely loves it, and I am thrilled with the quality and depth of the scientific content. Funny enough he now seems to stare at Elisha Cuthbert more than he's listening to the cool science. Oh well, my boy could have worse taste :-)

This is a great show. I love Bill Nye, but my audience is about 10 2nd and 3rd graders with ADHD. This show is a good pace for building focus through a high interest peek into how things work.

My four grandchildren, elementary school, have really fallen for this program. They go through each episode rather than picking a select few. They have started looking for other programs that might provide this type of information.

was so happy to find a copy of this to give to my smarty pants nephew.

Loved this show as a kid, bought this for when I have my own!
