Calypso All School Day Long with SP40

It is AMAZING! I wish they had sunscreen that lasts this long in the US.

For someone who is fair, burns easily, and lives in a high altitude climate with 350 avg of sun, finding this sunscreen has been a lifesaver. It is moisturizing and does work well under makeup, just let it soak in for at least fifteen minutes. One warning is that it is thick, so best practice is to apply it in two thinner layers, rather than one thick layer that you have to rub in for five minutes and potentially irritate your skin. All that said, my skin stays cool in the sun for at least eight hours before I feel a need to reapply.

I was looking for something that’ll last all day without reapplying because my Pre-K got sunburned (face peeling :( ) and is too young to understand to reapply and teachers don’t help with that. Obviously reapplying is ideal but we can only do our best. This one is water resistant, advertised to last 8 hours, and no white cast once you rub it in. It smells like coconut cake (my kid love sweets so he’s totally ok with it) and it doesn’t have a greasy feel, but it does feel a bit tacky. I would say better than typical white cast American sunscreens but not as good as the Asian ones (though I question how well it works when the kid sweats a ton). This is pricey since it’s an Australian brand (doesn’t seem to be sold locally to USA) but I’d say this one is perfectly functional and so far I’ve used it for a week and no issues so I’m happy with it. Definitely need soap / cleanser to wash it off. Water will definitely not cut it! For comparison, blue lizard has a ton of white cast! This is easier to rub on!

Very light weight for face sunscreen, and soaks in wonderfully. Wore it under primer and makeup and it did pretty great. I have sensitive skin and acne prone skin and it didn’t break me out at all, doesn’t sting eyes either.

I love that this is all day sunscreen. I wish USA brands made this sort of formula, but glad I can get some of the Europe ones like this one over here for my kids and I.

This works as well as any other sunblock. My kids were still getting burnt at school so it doesn't last 8 hours as advertised

Smooth it on first thing in the morning and you can stay out in the sun all day without getting burnt!

I've been using this on my two kids for two summers now. We use it in one of the roll on applicators and it has a lovely banana scent that the kids love. It goes on well, disappears pretty fast, they moan til it's all rubbed in but they always do! It stains clothes less than others I find, but they all do a bit. I trust it to protect my kids all day at school and we're taking it abroad soon too. It's coped well in all these heatwaves and sports day too, not had a single burn or redness at all, and I have extremely pale and fair kids. I'll keep on buying, husband and I use it too

I was slightly dubious about using a once a day lotion but having found numerous different repeat application creams and lotions nothing but trouble and still managing to get burnt I decided to give it a go on this years summer holiday to Spain. Wow..I have to say I would never go back. The best tan I have had ever with no hint of burning and the tan seem to last so much longer when I had got home. I had reservations about using it on the children but went for the 40SPF and did apply on at least 2 occasions for the first couple of days (just to be safe) but they had no problems whatsoever and of course when used with sensible sun time management I was extremely confident after 2 days in, that this cream was protecting them ever so well. They all had a beautiful golden glow after the holiday so this stuff had really done the trick. I myself used the 20SPF and again applied a couple of times in the first few days but probably didn't need to. Kids had no problem with the smell although I did find that the 20SPF was a lotion rather than a cream and this would take your breath away when applying to the face area but only lasts for seconds and dries in nicely. a Great product all round, If you haven't tried it then make the switch with confidence that if used sensibly this will provide great protection and give a healthy looking tan.

Great suncream, we've been using a different Calypso all day product (clear gel stuff) but the smell is horrendous, so I was pleased to find this with reviews saying it smelled nice. Smells sort of coconutty and fruity, kind of like sweets. It's very thick as other commenters state, but it goes on really well and sinks in, great to see where you've applied though as you go. I am basically transparent I'm so pale, my daughter is the same. We have not burned using this which is a huge thing for me! It works well for the whole family. We top up after prolonged water exposure so cant comment how water resistant it is.

Yes it may be slightly more expensive than some supermarket own brand sun creams but this sun lotion saves us in the long road - it saves us on clothes! School polo's and light coloured clothes get destroyed by every sun cream I try, except this one. I apply it sometimes when the kids already have their school tops on and it still hasn't stained. I apply it 30 mins before we leave for school and not once have they came home burnt or even tanned (they look quite pasty) Well worth the money, plus it smells pleasant. I'd give it 5 stars but it's quite thick making it not the easiest to apply I prefer a thinner lotion, however it does what it's meant to do and I rate highly.
